Seven Things To Do Every Ramazan

Recite Quran every day :

The Messenger of Allah (blessings of Allah be upon him and his family) has said: “The one who recites the Qur’an and the one who listens to it have an equal share in the reward.”

Mustadrakul Wasa’il, Volume 1, Page 293

This Ramazan recite Quran not only for blessings but also to have inner peace. We all know that reciting one word of The Holy Quran adds 1o good deeds in your books, so why miss this chance? Specially in this Holy Month. The Quran is a guide to humanity. Since none of us want to be misguided, it is paramount not only to read or recite the Quran, but to understand and implement it in our lives as well.

Engage in prayer and remembrance of Allah :

We shouldn’t forget to turn to Allah every moment, each day. Make du’a and  remember His blessings, be sorry and ask forgiveness for your shortcomings, seek guidance for your decisions in life. We should always seek mercy for our loved ones, alive and deceased. They say that prayer can change your entire luck, so pray as much as you can.

Keep and build relationships :

Ramazan is a the month when people try to mend their differences between relatives and build healthy relationships. All around the world, beyond national borders, linguistic or cultural barriers, Muslims of all kinds fast together during this month. It’s good to meet new people, and spend time with the loved ones whom you haven’t seen in a while. There is great benefit and a feeling of compassion that you will find. There is so much satisfaction in spending your time visiting relatives, the elderly, the sick, and the lonely. Reach out to someone every day!

Reflect on and improve yourself :

This is the time to reflect on yourself as a person, and to recognize the things you need to change. We all have bad habits which we should strive to change during this month. The Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) advised us that small improvements, done consistently, are better than large but unsuccessful attempts. So start with one small change and take one step at a time.

Give in charity :

It doesn’t always have to be money, maybe you can go through your closets and donate quality used clothing, or spend some volunteer hours helping a local community organization. Makes sure to give charities that can put your donations to use for the needy.

Avoid wasting time :

There are many distractions around us, during Ramazan and throughout the year. From soap operas to shopping sales, we can literally spend hours doing nothing but spending our time and money  on things that have no benefit to us. During the month of Ramazan, try to limit your schedule to allow more time for worship, reciting Quran, and fulfilling more of the other items on the above “to-do list.” Ramazan comes just once a year, and we never know when our last one will be, so make the most of it.
