Ho Mann Jahaan - The Next Big Thing To Hit This New Year!

The much anticipated theatrical trailer of the latest ARY film ‘Ho Mann Jahaan’ was released recently at the Ocean Mall in Karachi. Releasing on the 1st of January, 2016 it is a musical tale that portrays the gripping journey of three friends chasing their passion and living their dream. A story most will easily connect and relate to.

The film revolves around a trio of over ambitious friends – Manizae (Mahira Khan), Nadir (Adeel Hussain) and Arhaan (Shehreyar Munawar Siddiqui) – united by their love for music. It’s a story that goes from college fun to the struggles of the real world.

The colorful and musical trailer will have you dancing, singing, grooving and craving for more. The very gorgeous Mahira khan has only used one word to define her current situation – ‘emotional’. She described her character Manizeh as ‘today’s girl’ who is confident and has been brought up in a liberal atmosphere by a single mother. Sheheryar Munawar grew up real fast all thanks to the beard, from masoom to macho, we can’t get over his new look! The beauty with beard is not only playing one of the lead roles but is also the films co-producer. He plays a rebel hailing from the lower-middle class, and his parents’ hopes are pinned on him. He states that the trailer is not even a fraction of the film and he’s really excited for the release after this overwhelming response. Another lead, Adeel hussain plays an only child from the upper-middle class. He is equally excited and hopeful; he states that working with Mahira and Sheheryar has been a great experience.

The film also features Sonya Jehan, along with Nimra Bucha, Arshad Mehmood, Bushra Ansari and Munawer Siddiqui (Shehreyar’s father) in prominent roles. The biggest surprise comes in the form of guest stars – Yes, Fawad Khan and Hamza Ali Abbasi will be seen in guest appearances.

If you’re tired of ‘tutti frutti billies’ then this is your perfect musical treat and escape. Ho Mann Jahaan is not another high school musical but music is the main theme of the story. It’s nine songs bring together the best of Pakistani music, from Zeb Bangash, Jimmy Khan and Asrar to Tina Sani, Mai Dhai and Abu Muhammad and Fareed Ayaz, among others. Acclaimed singer and composer Faakhir has also produced a couple of songs for the upcoming movie. The two songs are Asrar’s ‘Shakar Wandaan Re’ and ‘Khush Peya Wussain’, which have been reproduced and turned into their fresh versions by Faakhir. Music lovers must have had their dose of ‘Shakar Wandaan Re’ performed by Asrar in the seventh season of Coke Studio.

Good news, this movie did not feel the need of an item number! Now isn’t this the best way to start the New Year and take this revival of Pakistani cinema to the next level?

Ho Mann Jahan is a film about the contemporary urban lifestyle. Fashion plays a major role in the film, with all the credit for costume design going to Feeha Jamshed, Ismail Farid and Umar Sayeed.
